Message From The Chair: December 2008

Dear Friends and Colleagues, Are you counting the days to Christmas? Dreaming of Santa Claus? He would no doubt by now be using a spreadsheet on his laptop to plan all his chimney drops! Whatever, just keep reading our quirky bits and the answer to the emotions of this time of year could be in Bag Boy!

Many of us have just returned from the Latest Study Tour in Italy which was a great success. And guess who we met in Pietrasanta? No, not Santa Claus but Gina Lollabrigida hosting an exposition of works of her own designs. The most unlikely highlight you would expect to hear from an IATM study tour, you must agree.! Yes, we saw and learnt lots, not only historically and visually, but also about the typical foods special to the area we toured. There will be an article in the next IATM News.

Closing down 2008 will be a relief in some ways. Looking forward to 2009, we will need patience and positive planning. Shake off a bit of January blues and make your way to Vienna for the Inter- national AGM. Lovely to see that there is a good number of BR members already booked. I know we can all see each other here but to rekindle friendships with other members makes it worth- while. So nice not to have to explain “and what do you do?”

So with the year and (the page) nearing the end, we leave you with our last message for 2008;
